LC looks in the mirror
Now You See Me
By Lemuel Crouse
A simple trick, really:
Glass backed with shiny...
A finely polished
Bit of light magic.
Enigmatic plane,
Giving no thought
To the tragic act
Playing before it.
I am drowning in memory!
Fighting, sinking, dying,
Last time going under?
I wonder as blood
Thunders in my ears.
I would gladly shed tears
If I had any left.
I am bereft of them.
Confounding mirror
Showing no horror...
How can it NOT
See the monstrosity
That stands before it!
Infernal broken pane,
Silent within your frame,
Reflecting...nothing?

I wonder why this prompt has prompted so many bloggers to wonder who they are? But yours is a better ordering of the question than most.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Doctor FTSE. When I saw the prompt, I knew this was coming. As for Lemuel Crouse, let's just say he has image issues...

The poet Lemuel Crouse thanks you! Currently, he is brooding over the moon that was setting this morning as I drove to school. Willow, I considered recording this one! I did, on re-reading it aloud, think that monstrosity worked better than abomination.
ReplyDeleteah but that which stands in the reflection is great than even our eyes can see....smiles.
ReplyDeleteReflecting nothing? Wow. Nice Mag. Love and Light, Sender
