Siebenthaler Fen, Early April

Pictures from our ramble through Siebenthaler Fen on a chilly early April day:
Little woodpecker!

Red-winged blackbirds in a tree.

Beaver lodge!

Bundled-up Bug!

Skunk cabbage

Red-winged blackbird and cardinal in a tree!

Cute couple from Canada :-)

Swamp marigolds!

Pussy willows!

A "run" through the fen.

Bug sighting.

Red-winged blackbird!

Beaver's handiwork.

Trees girdled by beavers.  They'll die, opening up space for new growth.
Balancing-act Bug :-)

That fen is crawling with bugs :)

Love the flowers - we need to go back this weekend!

Great post...I'm assuming that you live in a German part of America? some of my family are German and that seems to me to mean "Seven times or counts Fen" am I right?
Is it still so cold there? hope you get some sunshine soon!

Beautiful photographs. Bet you wouldn't need a jacket if you went today.
