Storm Crow

So strange to be
a Son of Light
when night is all
I ever seem to see...
"Woe is me"
too frequently slides
off my tongue
as I wallow
in a dung heap
of self-pity...sigh

Wallowing is ok...for a season...

Well first...I love that image...is it one of your own photos? second...you are allowed a bit of wallowing...especially at the darkest time of the year...just another 2 weeks before the turn...hooray.

Gerry, yes, one of mine! I'm quite happy to have captured such a lovely image of a crow/raven. We have some spectacular ones here. Thanks, and hooray for longer days to come!

Finally catching up. I loved the past posts.

I've always thought I might have a touch of seasonal affective disorder, especially when we lived in the perpetual darkness of Wisconsin winters. Just a few weeks until the length of daylight will start to increase. Only a millisecond at a time...but still in the right direction.

That storm crow gets around!

Here's a prayer/poem for you:

My Prayer

Lord,
Only you know
what runs through
the muddle
of my head.
Only you, know
where I’m really
at
Only you, can undo
the thoughts
that sway me
from your path
only you
can keep me walking
on the straight
and narrow road
to your heart,
but I know
despite my needing
You
I need, also
to find myself
on this ill-lit street
and open up
to the lamp in the
distance.
Or maybe
the lamp
is inside me
all the time.
I just need
to switch it
ON.

Sounds like SAD, Seasonal Affective Disorder. I'd suggest a week or two in the Cayman Islands. ;-/
