Space...the final frontier...

Crescent moon in early August...harbinger of the Perseid meteor shower
 Dusk, August 11
 The Bug's favorite sky...
 My mistress...
Perseus...alack, I failed to capture a meteor flash
An enhanced view of Perseus with a blue filter effect...no meteor here, either
 Light clouds, blue filter
Still no meteor...I did see a few, just not when the shutter was open
 Unfiltered
The final frontier, and so on and so forth

And now...
 Welcome to the jungle!
Super-saturated color on these beautiful bloomers!
 Little Rosie
 Cypress vine, aka "the jungle"
Female ruby-throated hummingbird...love the iridescent emerald!
Our darling Pinky

More Birds Out Back

Juvenile robin
Learning the ropes

 Sparrow at the cement pond
Female ruby-throat sneaking in for a snack
The little male who "owns" the feeders
 Yep, he's a cutie!
 Female trying her luck again!
 Ahhh...
 Gorgeous male American goldfinch!
They also can eat while hanging upside down

Some more flower pictures, too
 Cypress vine, going wild
 Sunflower, reaching for the sun
(tomato blossoms in background)
 Delicate white petunia
 We still have some daisies!

 Last of our double-orange daylilies
Two of the last of our yellow daylilies
Pretty yarrow blooms
And peeking over our privacy fence...
Lovely rose of Sharon hibiscus!

Down on the farm

Actually, it's not a farm...just our little yard
But we have 'maters!
And Marigolds

 Zinnias and Verbena

Pinky the Pet Geranium, being threatened by Cypress Vine
A few more daylilies, fixin' to bloom
One of the last of Ellen's Double Orange Daylilies
And LOTS of birds!
Young Grackle, trying to get along with a host of House Sparrows
Dove and Sparrow, observing rules of personal space
This dove? Not so much...just crashed the party!
Juvenile Robin, rebelling against the notion of self-feeding!
Pop giving Junior a talking-to, and a bit of worm...
This fellow knows how to eat
 And so does this one!
This lady enjoys Pink in the evening...I guess she had Purple for lunch
And the swifts patrol constantly overhead, thinning out the insects
This cute little Bumble steals a snack
And in the evening, we take delight in seeing the occasional little toad coming out.
Life is good out back!
