Gotcha

I was at Lowe's picking up a new snow shovel when a lovely bird feeder spoke to me: "If you buy me, he will come."  It wasn't expensive at all...a nice little feeder made in part of recycled material.  I bought it and a hearty sunflower mix.  Today, he came!  And he brought friends...

A fit, fat fellow!
In his holiday finery
With finchy friends!
Good day to you, Sir Finch!
Others join in the feast.
Back for a quick snack.
My pleasure, good sir!

Cardinals are so striking in the snow! I love that shot of him in flight. Did you answer the bird feeder in Lowe's? Just wondering if there was a conversation. ;^)

There's ALWAYS a conversation, Tess...even in blog comments :-)

Isn't it exciting when you catch a bird in flight! Happy Anniversary. How I envy you both and your cardinal!

What a beautiful bird. I am so glad you bought this. They say that cardinals bring good luck.

He's beautiful and so deeply red too! Tractor Supply carries a "Cardinal Blend" seed that has black oil sunflower, safflower, and sunflower kernels and these guys LOVE it.

Dear C.L.,
That was a lucky find! Just in time for the birds and just in time for some great pictures!

I congratulate you on seeing opportunity/having conversation in the aisles--and then carrying it forward to a grand, feathered discussion.

Lovely. Thank you!
Ann T.

Thank you! There is a rather large discussion group in my back yard, even now. Lots of our common feathered friends involved, along with the occasional mourning dove :-)

Awww. I could enjoy that with a mug of hot cocoa quite easily.

Oh, what a wonderful find, and how delightful to be able to enjoy your new friends. Some wonderful photos, too. I'm jealous!

Thanks, Jen and Anne! Glad to share :-) Of course the trade-off has been bitter cold. I was joking on Facebook that my laundry this week consists almost entirely of sweatpants, flannel shirts, and wool socks!
