An Evening with the Ruby-Throats

One of the great pleasures we have had in our current abode is a front-row seat for the summer ritual of Ruby-Throated Hummingbird migration to OH. Our neighbors are meticulous in keeping their feeders stocked and fresh, and we try to have some plants to attract the hummers as well. This evening I managed a few good captures of the activity at one of our neighbor's feeders. Thank you, Mr. Ken!

A female sneaks in for a sip
Boy howdy!
Such a pretty boy
Gettin' his fill before bedtime
Had enough yet?
Didn't think so...
Go forth and multiply, my friend!
This last one, though blurred, shows the "ruby" to you. The color only flashes when the light is right.

Oh, and we also saw a bunny in the yard yesterday!

Finally, we had a gorgeous full moon last night...sigh...

Hope you enjoyed. Hope you know that you are loved!

Their activity is really picking up now and will be a frenzy as they get ready to leave us again come Sept/Oct. Thanks for sharing the beauty my friend. :c)
