Ball and Chain

When the wife commands, I obey. Those of you who really know us are rolling on the floor laughing your arses off right now. I...don't respond to voice commands :-) Anyway, my darling Bug wanted me to answer some questions, so she used the pretense of giving me a Reader Appreciation Award to coax me. Here you go, Bug:

::Where do you do most of your writing/blogging? I blog from my big, comfy easy chair. If it's technical writing, I need a large table with room for photocopies, books, booze, etc.

::What books were your childhood favorites? I read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at some point and loved it! Other than that, see any number of books on world and U.S. history,  Frederick Forsyth, Peter Benchley, the Star Trek adaptations by James Blish, Roller Ball Murder by William Neal Harrison, etc., etc. I did not have a childhood.

:: Who is your favorite fictional character? I love Trevanian's Jonathan Hemlock! Also, Samwise Gamgee, though I long to be more Aragorn than Sam. The character I probably know best is Paul Atreides, which means my favorite character of all time is Duncan Idaho! However, if you want to understand me...the real me...read Harry Potter.

::What is your favorite time of day and why? Any time of day I'm alive. Dawn, sunset, a clear cold winter night...it's all good! Not much for mid-afternoon...that's nap time.

::Have you ever Googled yourself and been surprised at what you’ve found? Yes I have. I have found interesting genealogical stuff that way! Also, I found out that my name was misspelled in a WorldCat entry.

::Who would play you in a movie of your life? Nick Nolte...oh, wait, that was Prince of Tides, not my life...

There will be no naming of followers. If you like the questions, answer them. It's all about self-actuation at this point...live how you want to live ;-)

Well I loved your answers even though I am not familiar with the authors or books you spoke of. I may be the only person alive that has not read Harry Potter. Maybe someday I will give it a shot. Nick Nolte is a great actor. I actually really liked Prince of Tides but the story was sad. If I remember right the ending was ok though.

I loved the film Prince of Tides! The book was great, but over-long with the parts they cut out of the film. Thanks, Brenda! The short answer about Harry Potter is that I, too, am the boy who lived. Thanks for stopping by!
