Space...the final frontier...

Crescent moon in early August...harbinger of the Perseid meteor shower
 Dusk, August 11
 The Bug's favorite sky...
 My mistress...
Perseus...alack, I failed to capture a meteor flash
An enhanced view of Perseus with a blue filter effect...no meteor here, either
 Light clouds, blue filter
Still no meteor...I did see a few, just not when the shutter was open
 Unfiltered
The final frontier, and so on and so forth

And now...
 Welcome to the jungle!
Super-saturated color on these beautiful bloomers!
 Little Rosie
 Cypress vine, aka "the jungle"
Female ruby-throated hummingbird...love the iridescent emerald!
Our darling Pinky

Great night skies; it's been raining here so I appreciate your shots.

I feel gypped that I didn't see anything! (And now I feel uncomfortable using the word "gypped" - let's change that to "slighted").

I usually drive to the golf course for the Perseid, the only area in which there is a lot of sky to view. Alas, clouds every night. Once we were lucky enough to be at the Outer Banks for the meteor shower and what a delight it was!

I saw only a couple and the little mothers were too fast for me to even think of trying to click a shutter.
