Birthday Blues...

Not the best of weeks, but today I turn 57. So here's to a super moon and sheep and autumn leaves. Keep the faith, friends. Trust me, the United States of America has seen darker times, even if it doesn't feel like it. I am a professional. I'll take 2017 over 1867 any day. We just have to work harder, be better organized, and yes, be more inclusive. Face it: we cannot appeal to the masses of poor people by offering the status quo. America is NOT great for them, and they are my family, my friends, my neighbors. And so we have to move forward in the ongoing mission to make this a more perfect union. But tonight, leaves, sheep, and a super Moon!

Lovely, wise words my friend. Another Sagittarian laments the shocking events of last week. I hope we can put the disappointment aside, move forward with an even more inclusive agenda. What are we if we aren't concerned for our fellow Americans? Maybe we've spent so much time being concerned about diversity and inclusiveness of people who don't look like "us" that we forgot about those disenfranchised who do look like "us". Be happy that you've reached another birthday, have sheep to enjoy, and a super Moon that is spectacular!! Happy birthday.

Maybe working together we can dislodge the extremes in all quarters. Take care! :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

I wish I could move forward but I cannot just yet. I cannot see an inclusive agenda from DJT when he appoints an anti-Semitic, white nationalist as White House Chief Strategist.

I totally agree with you that some people have been left behind and do not share in our Nation's riches. But I sadly do not see the next administration helping their cause at all.

Yes, our Nation has seen darker days but that gives me little solace. I'm living in the here and now and the future looks very dark to me. I fear a move backward to a time when it was acceptable to discriminate against people who were different from you, when women did not have access to safe abortions, when women were seen subservient to men and when same-sex marriage was seen as moral corruption.

But I did love your sheep and the super moon.

Was that creature kicking up its heels a lamb or a goat or a kangaroo? Or some other strange Ohio creature?

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! And some of those sheep sure look nekid! As for the white-tail, I think she's sending The Big Orange a message. And after all these years, I just realized that you celebrate your birthday on my half birthday. Go figure!

Not only a history prof, but a "professional" photographer. Your pics are always amazing! Of course, your subjects--moon and creatures--are God's creation. Thank you for portraying them so beautifully and sharing them with us.
And many blessings in your 58th year just begun!
