Birds, Blooms, and the Occasional Squirrel

Petunia bloom...I see faces
Red-bellied woodpecker hittin' the feed trough despite the rain
Mama Cardinal
Rare wisteria sighting in Xenia! A bit of southern flora courtesy of Mr. Ken
Mr. Ken's Irises are blooming!
Female Goldfinch
Downy woodpecker
Pinky the Pet Geranium
Puppy cow (just for Nance)
Red-winged blackbird
Wonder if these two are mating? I read somewhere that Canada geese do sometimes pair up with domestic geese. They were a LONG way away from where I was parked, but I had to try to get this pic.
Papa Cardinal

Crow
 Song sparrow!
 Mourning dove in flight!
Mr. Ken's poppies are blooming, too!

 Toad!
Mr. "I'm so bright I gotta wear shades" Goldfinch
Daisies are growing like, well, daisies
Lots of new grown on the hedge
Soggy flags...but at least you can't see how faded mine is
The honeysuckle bushes are out of control out back!
 More Petunia faces
 As promised, the Occasional Squirrel
Mr. Robin trying to impress someone
Speaking of impressive: a young male House Sparrow
 He is a cutie
That's all, folks!

THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS A CUTE, MUCH LESS CUTIE, HOUSE SPARROW!!! Now that's off my chest I loved this post. (House Sparrow excepted, of course. I know they are here to stay and have full citizenship but I don't have to like it.)

Ha, NCMW! Two of your least favorite yard denizens back to back: house sparrow and gray squirrel. Thank you, bloggy buddy :-)

I think I just decided that if I ever cannot identify a bird, I will just ask you.

Love that last squirrel picture - I can almost hear him say "That's all, folks!"

Man, I wish you were here. I've got some birds that I just can't identify. Even with a bird book. I need a PROFESSOR of birdology!

These are wonderful pictures, Michael and a great chronicle of spring 2013. I love the ferny looking plant with the droopy tear drop looking (flowers?). Are they Mr. Ken's too? Do you know the name of them? Thank you for sharing.
